REHAU recently collaborated with Personal Touch Cabinet Fitters to furnish a new-build home in Onrus, near Hermanus in the Western Cape. Ivan, the owner of Personal Touch, has over 25 years of experience in the industry, with his business officially registered for the past 20 years. Starting with a Chico Golf and a vision inspired by modern kitchens in Pretoria showrooms, Ivan aimed to bring contemporary designs to his clients in East London. His business has since grown to employ 38 staff members, primarily serving East London, though occasionally venturing as far as Cape Town.

Ivan’s clientele is exclusive, focusing on niche, high-end projects rather than typical kitchen renovations. His passion for design is evident in his regular attendance at international shows like EuroCucina, where he keenly observes trends to incorporate back home. Ivan enjoys visiting global showrooms such as IKEA, striving to surpass their designs with his own unique touch. Central to his philosophy is the commitment to deliver exactly what his clients envision, not imposing his preferences on them.

For the Onrus project, Ivan encountered a client with a clear and distinct vision. As an image consultant, the client demanded a modern, relevant design using only the finest materials. This is where REHAU’s Crystal Boards proved to be the ideal solution for creating a unique kitchen.

Ivan notes that the bold colors featured in this kitchen are indicative of emerging trends in kitchen design. Globally, there is a shift towards greys, whites, and deeper, bolder hues with rich tones. Ivan’s enthusiasm for future design trends, particularly with REHAU products, is mutual.
